Day 1: LYON / THONON-LES-BAINS (250 km)
Motorcycle delivery then road to Aix les Bains - You drive along the eastern shore of Lake Bourget to Annecy. Direction Mont Saleve. On top of the Saleve, go on foot (15 min A / R) to the viewpoint of the Thirteen Trees: dazzling view of the Alps, Mont Blanc, Annecy Lake... A little further to the Saleve observatory panorama on the other side, to Geneva and Lake Geneva, the Jura mountains in the background… Get around Annemasse and towards Thonon-les-Bains by road from Col de Cou.
A Thonon in the gardens of the Chablais Museum and the Castle of Sonnaz, several landscaped lookouts offer you a beautiful view on the Swiss side of Lake Geneva.
Day 2: THONON-LES-BAINS/ THÔNES (150 km)
After a five-minute drive, arrival in Evian-les-Bains. Evian, "Leman pearl" is staged in an amphitheater with its streets punctuated by steep paths of architectural surprise. Enjoy at least the promenade of the "lake front" lined with rare trees, lawns and flowers. Leaving Evian, you enter into the Abondance valley. Climb through Morzine and Samoëns by the Col de Joux Plane. Then, stunning landscapes will be visible at the pass of La Colombiere. Way down to Thônes by le Grand Bornand.
Thones Aravis capital is also renowned for being the capital of Reblochon cow soft cheese from raw and whole milk and washed rind, made from the milk of mountain cattle breeds Abondance, Tarine and Montbeliarde.
Day 3: THONES / LYON (200 km)
Twisting morning, passing the Forclaz pass and descent to Talloires along Lake Annecy. Passing Duingt you can visit the old village which has kept its Savoyard hardiness. In Sevrier you will follow the Semnoz Mountain to Devil's Bridge and the Abyss Bridge. The road will take you quietly to Aix Les Bains by the Serrioz Valley.
Aix les Bains lakeside and spa resort was the Alphonse de Lamartine location, where he wrote the verses of his famous poem "Lake" dedicated to Julie Charles (or Elvira). Continuation and return to Lyon in the afternoon.
